A special additional duty (SAD Refund) of Customs at the rate of 4% has been imposed on all imports by the Budget 2006-2007. Since there is no central sales tax or VAT is levied on imports, the levy of SAD is to create a level playing field for domestic goods vis-a-vis imports. However, this fairly innocuous-intentioned move has a number of anomalies and contradictions. SAD refund limit is one year from the payment.
SAD refund can be claimed by importers who imported goods into India and sold them as it is. We help you in the procedure of claiming the refund. We shall be taking follow up with the department. If there are any issues with the refund, dept. shall inform the same.
